Scott Darren Ater, age 56 of Weatherford passed away early Wednesday morning in a Fort Worth hospital from complications of a motorcycle accident causing severe traumatic brain injuries. Scott was born May 22, 1963 in Hurst, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for over 17 years. He was retired owner of Scott Ater plumbing and a member of the Baptist church and a US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife Autumn of 30 years, four daughters; Jennifer Ater of Portland, OR, Alisha Ater of Milwaukee, OR, Elaina Titus and husband Jonathan of Weatherford, Tx, Jamie Lynn Carson and husband Josh of OR; sisters, Julie Wolff and husband Duane of Joshua, Tx and Terry Ballard of Tx; brothers, Christopher Ater of Fort Worth, Tx and Kevin Ballard of Boonsville, Tx, 9 grandchildren, father Hubert Ballard and wife Judy of Boonsville, Tx and many other family members.
He is preceded in death by parents Jack Allen & Shirley Jean Ater and son, Robert Ater.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Tx, starting with visitation at 11:00 am, Eulogy to follow with Interment at East Greenwood Cemetery following service. Memorials may be made to any Disabled Veterans Organization or to the charity of your choice.
