Sharon Ann Tunnell

Sharon Ann Tunnell, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Sharon, a longtime resident of Weatherford, was born August 8, 1942, to Alvin and Lorene Wheatley. She grew up in Earth, Texas and married Larry Tunnell November 4, 1961.

Sharon was a 1st grade teacher for 30 years, spending the first 15 years at Amherst ISD and the last 15 years at Garner ISD. Sharon was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Earth, Texas, playing the organ regularly for services. Larry and Sharon moved to Weatherford in 1986. After arriving in Weatherford, she became an active member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Jones of Slaton, Texas, Stacy Miller of Austin, Texas, Jason Tunnell of Georgetown, Texas, and Jocelyn Simms of Carroll, Ohio; their spouses; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Thursday, May 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 222 W. Church St., Weatherford, Texas at 2 pm., with visitation beginning two hours prior from 12pm - 2pm. Interment in Weatherford immediately following.
