Shirley Maxine Hafel, age 87, died Friday, November 12, 2010 in a Fort Worth Hospital.
Born December 6, 1922 in Caney, Kansas, she lived much of her life in California before moving to Texas. She was a homemaker and involved in her community. Shirley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved teaching in Primary. Her hobbies included reading, painting, sewing, and listening to a wide variety of music. She had a special place in her heart for animals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of North Texas.
Survivors: Daughter, Laura Brackney and husband, Scott, of Fort Worth, son, James Kennedy of Frisco; grandchildren, Joshua Hafel, Amelia Brackney, Kathleen Brackney, Jessica Brackney, and Elizabeth Brackney; sister, Audrey Stueben of Dover, Arkansas; brothers, Robert Booker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dean Booker of London, Ontario, Canada and Don Booker of Dover, Arkansas and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kelley of Wichita, Kansas.
Funeral: 10am Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, 100 Paint Pony Trail, White Settlement. Visitation: 6 to 8pm at the funeral home. Burial: Annetta Cemetery.
