Shirley Ann Simpson

Shirley Ann Simpson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024. She was born on July 21, 1941, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to J.D. Simpson and Opal Mae Brown. Shirley dedicated many years of her life working as real estate apartment manager until her retirement. A woman of strong faith, Shirley attended the Church of Christ and was a source of light and strength to her family. 

Family held a special place in her heart. She lovingly cared for her grandchildren, whom she adored endlessly. Fondly known as "The Fun Grandma," Shirley delighted in taking her grandchildren on outings to their favorite places. Her warm presence and fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Simpson and Opal Mae Brown, as well as her brothers, Don and Wayne Simpson.

Left to carry on her memory are her daughter, Tina Hughes and husband, Ron; son, Tony Moore and wife, Sherry; son, Michael Moore; son, John Stephens and wife, Deborah; and son, Bobby Strength; eleven adored grandchildren, Mechelle Davis and husband, Jason, Elton Moore and wife, Sabrina, Troy Moore, Jennifer Moore, Amber Hughes, Ashley Stice and husband, Kevin, Alyssa Hughes, Zack Strength and wife, Brittany, Chris Strength, Tiffany Strength, and Breanna Strength; as well as 18 great grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor Shirley's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Greenwood Memorial Park, in Fort Worth, Texas. Reverend Clark Bosher will officiate the service. 

A visitation for family and friends to pay their respects will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
