S.P. "Polk" Pair

S.P. “Polk” Pair, 88, of Weatherford, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 in a local nursing facility.  Born November 8, 1917 in Coleman County, Texas he was a resident of Parker County for many years.  Polk was a retired machinist.  He began work at General Dynamics July 19, 1949 and retired on Jan. 1, 1974.  He retired a second time on Dec. 1, 1979 at age 62.  He and wife Lucille married March 17, 1986.  They enjoyed traveling together and joined the Honey Do Chapter of the Good Sams Club in 1990. Polk was preceded in death by a son, Tony in 1968 and wife Nellie Lee Pair in 1986. Funeral service:  2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev Donald Thompson and Rev. Tim Richards officiating.Interment:  Memory Gardens Cemetery.Visitation:  6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors:  Wife, Lucille; son, Jerry Pair and wife Ivonne; 4 step children, Helen Evans, Lee Arvin Herron, Billy Herron and George Herron; 2 grandsons, Robert and Tony Pair; 15 step grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 23 step great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
