Steve is survived by his wife; Paula Beth Gough Higgins, of Lipan. They were married in Waco, TX on February 16, 2008. Steve was a Rambler and an Adventurer & didn’t stay in one place for very long. He called many places home and there wasn’t a mountain he didn’t want to climb or a river he didn’t want to fish. Travel was one of his greatest pleasures; he loved the beaches of Mexico, the Badlands of South Dakota, and even experienced the “the trip of a lifetime” fishing the Amazon in Brazil. When the Lord called Steve home, he was in his own “Heaven on Earth” – the rugged South Texas country beside the Devil’s River hunting for a record-breaking aoudad. His Aim was True.
