Stephen Wayne Hughes

Stephen “Steve” Wayne Hughes, 64, of Poolville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2020, at his home.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 P.M., on Tuesday, August 25, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford. A time of visitation will be held just prior to the memorial service, beginning at 1 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Steve was born April 15, 1956, in Hendersonville, Missouri to Clarence and Wanda Hughes. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. On September 14, 1981, Steve married Patricia Ann White. He worked as an engineer for Lockheed-Martin for over 35 years. He loved outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and outdoor BBQ’s. Steve enjoyed traveling particularly to Rockport, Texas. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed drawing and woodworking. He will be affectionately remembered for being a “prankster.” Most of all, Steve will be remembered for his love and devotion toward his wife and family.

Steve is survived by his wife Patricia of nearly 39 years; his sisters, Deborah Long and husband Stan of Arlington, Texas and Melinda Andric and husband Tony of Lockhart, Texas; niece, Traci Long and nephew Marc Long; and his great-nieces and great-nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
