Steven William Cosper, 67, passed away peacefully on his ranch in Weatherford, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones on December 30, 2020.
Steve was born on June 14th, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Anna and Herbert Cosper, and was raised in Cleburne, Texas. He was the Canadian Cowboys Association All Around Cowboy Champion in 1977, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. Steve went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad for a devoted 29 years as a Conductor/Brakeman.
After retiring from the railroad, he then moved to Weatherford, Texas where he enjoyed raising cattle and ranching. He had a love for entertaining people. You could always find him behind his smoker preparing a meal for someone. Steve had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was an active member of Dallas Safari Club International. He spent time in Africa, Alaska, Canada and throughout the entire United States hunting and fishing.
Steve is survived by: daughter, Cori Cosper; son, Cody Cosper and wife, Leslie; daughter, Brandi Wood and husband, Darren; grandchildren, Kanyon, Logan, Chloe, Campbell, and Calvin; brother, Glenn Cosper and wife, Tammy; aunt, Della Cromeans and husband, Phillip; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Steve was preceded in death by: mother and father, Ann and Herbert Cosper.
