At the age of 100, Stollie Pearl Wadlington Dixon peacefully departed this life on Thursday, December 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. Born on December 31, 1923, in Clarendon, Texas, to Henry D. and Florence (Beene) McCrary, Stollie Pearl lived a life marked by grace, devotion, and unwavering strength.
Stollie Pearl married Loyd Wadlington, and together they built a life filled with love and joy while raising four children. After Loyd’s passing, she found companionship and love again with Milo Spinler and later with Bill Dixon. A devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, Stollie Pearl’s life revolved around her family and faith. She had a passion for knitting, crocheting, and crafting, and her creations brought warmth and beauty to those around her. Her steadfast faith in God was her anchor and a guiding light for her family.
Preceding Stollie Pearl in death were her beloved husbands, Loyd Wadlington, Milo Spinler, and Bill Dixon; her children and their spouses, Linda and Alvie Whitlock, and Darrell and Linda Wadlington; her parents, Henry and Florence McCrary; her brothers, Melvin, Wendall, Boyd, and Vondell; and her grandson, Loyd Whitlock.
Stollie Pearl’s loving spirit lives on through her daughter, Patricia Speers; her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Dianne Wadlington; her eight grandchildren: Donna Whitlock, Steven Howard and wife Cary, Kurtis Howard, Daniel Howard, Terence Speers and wife Heather, Spencer Wadlington and wife Sarah, Vance Wadlington, and Nicholas Wadlington; and her ten great-grandchildren: Shelby Wadlington, Mason Wadlington, Kylie Howard, Skyler Howard, Kallie Speers, Patrick Speers, Zander Speers, Ava Howard, Lily Howard, and Chloe Howard.
A time of visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the stateroom at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
The funeral service celebrating Stollie Pearl’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with burial following at Greenwood Community Cemetery. James R. Plowman will officiate, and pallbearers will include her grandsons: Spencer, Kurtis, Vance, Nicholas, Terence, and Daniel.
Stollie Pearl’s century of life was a testament to her enduring love and faith, and her family will forever treasure the legacy she leaves behind.
