Sue Zacharias

  Sue Zacharias, of Weatherford, Texas, entered eternal life at the age of 74, on November 9, 2024, in Plano, Texas. Born on August 9, 1950, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Sue dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her community.

  Sue was a devout Christian, whose faith was central to her life. She shared her faith with everyone around her through prayer. She was an ardent Christian witness and source of faith and comfort to her friends and family. 

  Sue built her career as a Certified Property Manager at Horizon Management with her husband, Jim Zacharias. She achieved multiple designations and awards through her 40+ year career in property management. Her determination and empathy won her many lifelong friends and lasting relationships. She was full of life, always planning and spending time with friends and family. 

  Sue had a passion for decorating, especially during the Christmas season. She cherished Christmas season, decorating her home beautifully and hosting family gatherings which were highlighted by her famously unique and thoughtful stocking gifts. Her favorite shopping destination was Hallmark, where she loved to take her grandchildren, filling their baskets with treats and joy.

  Sue’s family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Zacharias; children, Sean and Gina Murphy, and Shannon and Anthony Cleveland; stepchildren, Don and Jaime Seidel, and James and Jennifer Zacharias; siblings, Ann and Jay Hillyer, Gay Walling, and Van Kelly Walling. She was a cherished grandmother to Kenna Murphy, Allie and Lexie Cleveland, Zachary and Jacob Seidel, and J.T. and Jordan Zacharias. 

  Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph G. Walling and June Ilene Baughman Walling Picard.

  A memorial service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Thursday, December 12th, at 10:00 a.m., at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086, with a reception to follow.
