Thayer "Pa" V Welch

Thayer “Pa” V. Welch, age 85, went to be with the Lord August 9, 2016. He was born the son of Virgil and Ina Lee Sharp Welch, December 5, 1930, in Weatherford. Thayer was a member at Center Point Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman. He was on Aledo’s first football team in 1946. Thayer was a custom home builder and cabinet maker, working alongside his son. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Margaret Stevens and Joedy Bell.
Thayer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janell Welch; children, Carl Welch, Patricia Meaders and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Valerie Proctor and husband Bryan, Dustin Meaders and wife Bethany, Rachael McCune and husband Billy, Natalie Welch; great-grandchildren, Devon Koopman and wife Halle, Allie McMurry, Brady McCune, Hannah McCune, Logan McCune, Avery Meaders, Brooke Meaders, Mason Martinez, Meghan McMurry and Macie Rapp; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Center Point Baptist Church with burial following at Center Point Cemetery.
