Tommie Lee Haney, age 73, of Weatherford, died early Wednesday morning, June 11, 2008, in a Fort Worth Hospital. He was born November 13, 1934, in Byers, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for several years.
He married LaVerta Dennis, July 22, 1955. He served in the National Guard for three years, was a ranch manager for many years on various ranches and later worked as asphalt plant manager at Vulcan Materials. He served as a Deacon of Dennis First Baptist Church since 1977, General Superintendent of the Parker County Livestock Improvement Association from 1975 to 1977 and President of the Parker County Livestock Improvement Association from 1978 to 1980.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Wife, LaVerta Haney of Weatherford; daughters, Teresa Woodruff and husband, Mike of Weatherford, Dana Warriner and husband, Fred of Crowley; son, Monty Haney and wife, Denise of Peaster; sisters, Margaret Morton and husband, Jerry of Byers, Dean Wade and husband, Sherrell of Byers, Jean Christy of Missouri; brother, Johnnie Haney and wife, Betty of Wichita Falls; seven granddaughters, Laci and Bryam Thomosan, Leah Woodruff, Tara and Clay Copeland, Casey and Clay Daugherty, Courtney Haney, Landace Leach, and Shae Ann Warriner.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2008, in the Dennis First Baptist Church, with Bro Danny Shearman officiating. Interment will be in the Johnson Cemetery, Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 12, at the funeral home.
