Toya S. Wren, age 86, passed from this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Toya was born November 20, 1937, in Wilbarger County, Texas, to Harmon Fisher and Pauline Rodgers Fisher.
Toya's legacy extends beyond her accomplishments as the owner of Red Barn Cafe and her dedicated years as a waitress. She will be remembered most for her unwavering love and care as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her affection for her family and friends was only rivaled by her compassion for animals.
A woman of many talents, Toya found joy in attending church services, playing her guitar, and singing melodies that echoed through the hearts of those around her. Her spirit thrived outdoors, whether she was basking in the coastal breeze or camping in Galveston. Known for her love of card games and readiness for any challenge that came her way, Toya embraced life with open arms.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Wren; her son, Marty Jones; two sisters and two brothers.
Toya is survived by her children, Randy Jones (June), Charlotte Herringer (David), Donna Jones, and Brian J. Wren (Lynn); six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; as well as her sister, Juanita Cunningham, and brother, Jack Fisher.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at East Greenwood Cemetery.
Toya's presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on through the memories she created and the hearts she touched along her beautiful journey. May she rest in eternal peace.
