Trixie Mae O'Bannon

  Trixie Mae O'Bannon, age 71, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father, surrounded by family on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Born on September 25, 1953, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Howard and Joy (Harris) Smith, Trixie spent her early years in Abilene I.S.D. before attending Millsap High School. She will be remembered as a devoted homemaker with a passion for crafting and gardening.

  Trixie was preceded in death by her father, Howard Gene Smith; brother, Edward Gene Smith; grandparents, Emerson Floy Smith, Pamela Blanche Smith, Edward L. Harris, and Velma Mae Harris; and her grandson, Joshua Tate Burleson.

  She is survived by her loving children, Michael and wife, Melody, Stephanie and husband, David, and Amanda; her cherished grandchildren, Chelsey Crowson, Jaylyn Brown, Nick Brown, Trenton Brown, Maelee Blew, and Megan Odom, and seven great-grandchildren; beloved mother, Joy Dene Smith; devoted sisters, Julie Ann Smith-Walden and husband, Larry, and Kristi Gaylene Smith-Smith and husband, Noal; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special companion and friend, Carl O’Bannon.

  A graveside service to honor Trixie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas, with Joe Harris officiating.
