Troy Wayne Nettles, 51, of River Oaks passed away on December 19, 2018 after a four-year battle with Cancer.
A service will be held on Sunday, December 23 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 pm followed burial at Soda Springs Cemetery in Millsap, TX. A visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Troy was born on October 2, 1967 to Sheila Nettles in Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Weatherford High School in 1985. Troy joined the Texas Army National Guard in 1989 and served for eight years as a tank-automotive mechanic. Following his service, he became one of the founders of Texas Diesel Power where he worked until he became disabled due to his illness. Troy married Michelle Kimberlin on September 29, 2018. He spent most of his time in the outdoors, on the river with his friends and family. Troy held a steadfast faith in God while enjoying living life to the fullest.
Troy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Evelyn and Kenneth Trotter; uncles, Berry and Walter Nettles; and aunts, Pam Key and Donna Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; mother, Sheila Rowell; step-children, Allenna McPherson, Tiffany Clark, and David Lyons (Lindsey); sister, Alicia White (Eric); brother, Jerry Nettles; aunts, Carol Nettles and Debbie Nettles; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, Troy requested that donations be made to Allenna McPherson at 1905 Yale St. Fort Worth, TX 76114. These proceeds will be going towards children suffering with Cancer.
