Velma Lafawn Graves

Velma LaFawn Graves, age 92, passed from this life, Saturday, August 5, 2017 in a local nursing home. LaFawn was born March 5, 1925 in Big Spring, TX to Walter and Zula McCloud Nichols. She married William Lafayette Graves July 17, 1946 in Lubbock. LaFawn was the Office Manager for Dr. George Orm for many years, was a member of the Whitt Baptist Church and a former longtime member of the North Side Baptist Church. She loved her church where she was active in many areas of ministry.

LaFawn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Bennie Graves, grandson Bennie Ray Graves, brothers Carrol Nichols, Roland Nichols, and a sister Wilda Payne.

The family has requested for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.

Velma is survived by her Son, Walter Graves of Springtown, Daughter, Ann Levine of Azle, daughter in law Judy Graves, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
