Venita Joyce Stark, 84, returned home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of December 26, 2010. Born Venita Joyce Lilly on May 12, 1926 in Foard City, Texas, she and her family moved to Weatherford shortly following World War II. Venita was employed by Campbell Hospital, Doctor’s Medical Clinic and later owned and operated Doctor’s Medical Laboratory. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. Stephen’s Ministry, the Keystone Sunday School Class and active in United Methodist Women, Friends of the Library, Parker County Business Women, Parker County Newcomers Club and Campbell Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Stark, Sr in 1969 and her parents, John and Lillian Lillly both of Weatherford, and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors Include her daughter, Charla Stark Edwards of Duncanville, her son Chuck Stark and wife Kellye of Weatherford; Grandchildren Matthew Edwards and wife, Tammy of Mansfield, Jessica Stark Branch and husband Michael of Keller and Carter Stark and wife, Erin also of Keller; great grandchildren Chris Collins, Harrison Edwards, Cooper Branch and a host of loving friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials to Venita’s life be directed to Friends of the Weatherford Library or United Methodist Women.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, December 29th at the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford with interment in Memory Gardens. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28th, 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
