Victor Hugh Houser

September 7, 1916 — March 21, 2011

Victor Hugh Houser was born on September 7, 1916, in Geneva, Indiana to Vern and Grace Houser. He passed away March 21, 2011 in a Weatherford, TX care center. The Houser family moved from Indiana to Cleveland, OK where Victor graduated high school. On July 1, 1938, he married Velda Arlene Freeze in Pawnee, OK. They moved to Tulsa where he was employed by Carter Oil Co which later became Exxon. He was a printing and graphics supervisor. In WWII he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a bombardier gunner stationed in England.  He was a faithful servant of Christ and a member of North Side Baptist Church, Weatherford, TX where his son serves as Senior Pastor. He was also a deacon and charter member of Parkland Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Victor loved cars, photography, trains and clocks and spent retirement years building clocks for those he loved.  The family extends deep appreciation to Nurse Gina McBee and the staff at Autumn Hill Manor and the membership of North Side Baptist Church for their care and compassion over his last years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; five sisters, daughter, Gayle Marie Bourn, and son Lawrence Hugh Houser. Survivors: Sister, Wanda Green of Houston; Sister in law, Melba Krauleidis of Perry, OK; Son, Van N. Houser and wife Susan of Ft. Worth; Daughter-in-law,  Holly Houser of Austin, and the joys of his life, grandchildren, John Throneberry and wife Jeanie of Richardson, Mike Throneberry and wife Krissy of Ft. Worth, Shelley Langsdorf and husband Pete of Van Alstyne, Rob Houser and wife Miranda of San Angelo, Austin Houser of Austin, eight precious great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
 
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24th at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main, Weatherford, TX.  In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the North Side Baptist Church Building Fund, Scholarship Fund or ministry of your choice.
