Virginia Catherine Soper, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024. Born on May 29, 1951, in Weatherford, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Roland H. Lee and Marjorie (Jones) Lee. Known affectionately as Catherine, she married Walter Soper, and together they built a loving family with their son, Roland. She was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a cherished grandmother.
Catherine led a fulfilling and adventurous life as a truck driver, embracing the open road with a free spirit. She had a deep love for horses, enjoyed spending time at thrift stores, and she never missed a chance to enjoy her favorite drink, Dr Pepper - all of which brought her immense joy throughout her life.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wallace Soper; her parents, Roland and Marjorie Lee; and her sisters, Patsy Cunningham and Nelda Cosby.
She is survived by her son, Roland Soper, and his wife, Shelby, of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as her treasured grandchildren, Knox Soper, Maysen Soper, and Weston Cosby.
A graveside service to celebrate Catherine’s life and legacy will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory and honor the remarkable journey she shared with those around her.
