Voncille Taylor Estes

Voncille Taylor Estes was born in Coleman County, Texas on September 8, 1921, the youngest child of Amos and Willie May Morgan Taylor. She passed away on October 30, 2021, in Hurst, Texas at the age of 100 years, 7 weeks, and 4 days.

She graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1939. She was married for 56 years to Woodrow Wilson Estes. After working many years as a bookkeeper, Voncille and Woodrow retired to Weatherford, Texas where they remained until his death in 2005.

Voncille was a member for many years of the South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, and, in her later years, of the Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills.

In addition to her parents and husband, Voncille was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers: Lorena Williams, Ineta Williams, Alton Taylor, Dollie Joplin, Ray Taylor, Fay Tucker, Elgie Spence, and Jewel Sudduth; one son-in-law, Ronald Lee Cade.

Voncille is survived by three daughters: Dahlia Cade of Fort Worth, Texas; Marsha Kay Brown and her husband, Scott of Hurst, Texas; Rosemary Doyle and her husband, Roger of Aledo, Texas; six grandchildren: Brian Lee Cade, Gary Dale Cade, Lea Heather Dukes, Jason Woods Day, Jeffrey Wilson Day, and Kevin Christopher Soble; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Voncille loved the Lord and her family above all else.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Tin Top Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
