Vonda Faye Dickey

  Vonda Faye Dickey was born February 23, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, and was welcomed into heaven on December 12, 2024. Vonda was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. 

  Vonda cherished the moments she spent in Colorado and New Mexico with her husband, Robert, where they enjoyed riding four wheelers, with Red River being her favorite destination. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her many hobbies, which included sewing, woodworking, crocheting, and tending to her yard, where she poured out her care and creativity. 

  Vonda had a particular fondness for Blue Bell Ice Cream, fried potatoes, and of course, her Dr. Pepper. Her love, laughter, and spunky attitude she shared brought many memories with family and friends. 

  Professionally, Vonda was a dedicated and supportive spouse, assisting her husband, Robert, in various jobs and tasks. Her commitment to her husband and family and her willingness to lend a hand made her a pillar of strength in their lives. 

  Vonda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dickey; brother, Billy Glenn; sister, Jo Ann Ham; daughter, Sharla McPherson; and parents, Viola Mae Dickerson and John Glenn.

  She is survived by her children, Kathy and Eric Melton, Paula and Kelvin Melton, and Sharon and James Hall; stepchildren, Diana and Danny Brown, Caroline and Roland Brooks, Paul Dickey, and Penny and Frank Ford; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one brother-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews.

  She was fondly remembered for her feisty spirit, her talents, and the countless memories made with those she loved.

  Vonda's graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Central Cemetery, located in Weatherford, Texas.
