Walter Bruce Davis, age 100, of Weatherford, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Walter was born January 25, 1917, in Mineral Wells, to Bruce and Florence Davis.
Walter wore many hats during his life. He was proud to be a Navy veteran of WWII. Walter was a teacher and principal in Duster, Texas, a retired US Postal Service superintendent of 32 years, a business owner of an excavating and landfill service, and a Justice of the Peace in the mining town of Bagdad, Arizona. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Walter enjoyed riding horses, skeet shooting and fishing.
Walter is survived by his son, Bryan Lawshe and wife, Pam of Burleson; cousin, John Floyd and wife, Ann of Ft Worth; grandchildren, Clint Lawshe, Casey Lawshe, and Amanda Lawshe Carter and husband, Mike; and five great-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Varee Cox Davis, and second wife, Ruth Davis; his parents, Bruce and Florence Davis; son, Walter Gene Davis; and sister, Nell Davis.
Graveside Service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Willow Springs Cemetery, in Willow Park. Robert Bostick will officiate. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, in Willow Park.
