Wanda Evelyn Carter

  Wanda Evelyn Carter also known as Wanna to her grandchildren. Born March 12, 1959, in Richmond Virginia, she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 21, 2025.

  Wanda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching crime shows and playing games. In the past, she was in a bowling league with her friends of 30 years, Richie Lemmons and Alfie Gustafson. She enjoyed going to the casino with Richie and her best friend, Nikki Armstrong.

  In the 90’s, she was co-owner of H & H Tile Co. She went on to become a housekeeper and a private sitter. Wanda had a big heart and a compassion for caring for others, always putting everyone before herself.

  Wanda is survived by her daughters, Holley Barash, and husband, Richard Barash; granddaughters, Halle Barash, Hazel Barash and Rose Barash; daughter, Noelle Breer, and husband, Victor Alvarado; granddaughters, Haylee Alvarado (Dalton Thomas) Layla Alvarado; and great grandchildren, McCain Thomas and Stella Thomas.

  Wanda also has a bonus daughter, Ashley Gall (Lansford); sister, Dawn Oaks; niece, Carrie Rucker; nephews, Scott Carter, Michael Carter, Shane Pierce, and Justin Pierce.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Edward Carter; brothers, Curtis Carter and Edward (Bubba) Carter; sister, Doreen Armstrong; and nephew, Dustin Armstrong.

  Wanda was loved by many and will be missed deeply.

  No services are scheduled at this time. A memorial will be held in March.
