Wanda Fay Cosby

Wanda Fay Cosby, 89, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Weatherford. 

Funeral: 3 p.m., Sunday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel officiated by Dr. Lyndale Holloway. 

Visitation: 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Wanda Fay Huffstuttler Cosby was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Dennis, the eldest of four daughters to the late John David and Elsie Lorene Heady Huffstuttler. She made her career as a nurse and retired after many years of dedicated service. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church of Weatherford and prior to that a member of First Baptist Church of Aledo, where her parents were founding members. She was social and loved Skip-Bo, dominoes, and organizing bingo at Hilltop Park. In her spare time, she knit hats and booties for babies in the NICU. Wanda was very loving and had a servant’s heart.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husbands, Neil Johnson and Bob Cosby; a son, David Johnson; her parents; and sisters, Johnalene Whitley and Christine Huffstuttler.

Survivors: son, Wayland Johnson of Palestine; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Ross of Waller; dear friends, Mike and Pam Albert of Weatherford and their family; and a host of loving church family and friends.
