Wanda Joan Torbett

Wanda Joan Torbett, 86, lifetime resident of Parker County, passed away on late Saturday, May 2, 2020, in Weatherford. A private funeral service was held at 12:30 P. M., on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Couts United Methodist Church in Weatherford. Burial followed at Memory Gardens west of Weatherford.

Wanda was born on October 5, 1933 in Parker County to George and Lula Sessions. Wanda married Waymond Torbett on September 24, 1950 and together had three sons. She was a long-time and devoted member of Couts United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking and flower gardening. She worked for Greene’s Florist in Weatherford for many years. For Wanda, her ‘family was everything.’ She loved all children – particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Waymond; her sons, Ricky and wife Pam, Larry and wife Marcia, and Weldon and wife Barbara; her grandchildren, Landon and wife Tashina, Meagan and husband Armand, and Caitlin; and by her great-children, Tiana, Javan, Brennon, Rylan, Kyler, Hayley, Elle, and Anemaes; and by her brother, Hugh Sessions.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Grady.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Dementia Research or to Couts United Methodist Church.
