Wendolyn “Grammie” Stroud, age 87, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in a local nursing facility. Wendolyn was born on December 4, 1927 in Weatherford to Henry and Rhoda Smith Davis. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church serving on the board and volunteering in every way. Wendolyn received an award from the church for being the oldest living member. Mrs. Stroud was a secretary and later vice president of Mutual Building and Loan. She worked for them for over 40 years. Wendolyn went to work as a secretary for Borden and Westhoff Law Office for 13 years and owned Gramtiques in Weatherford. She was also a member of Business and Professional Women Organization. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Betty Berkley, Frieda Hoel, Pat Plowman and Dale Davis. Survivors: husband of 67 years, E.A. Stroud of Weatherford; daughter, Cynthia Stroud Pigg and husband Bobby of Granbury; son, David Stroud of Weatherford; grandson, Robert Casey Stroud and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Avery and Graham Stroud all of Fort Worth; siblings, Carolyn Ellis of Levelland, Don Davis and wife Patsy of Weatherford and Mary Anderson of Rockford, Ill; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
Funeral service: 2PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
