William “Bill” Curtis Galloway, 79, of Weatherford, passed away early on Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Weatherford.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M., on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 P.M., on Saturday, August 24, at Greenwood Community Cemetery with Military Rites.
Bill was born on March 23, 1940, in Camp Wood, Texas, to James Clifford and Dorothy Lorette Galloway. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army. He married Barbara Long on June 13, 1959 and were together for over 60 years and together had 3 children, Rebecca, Cynthia, and William “Billy.” Bill worked as an equipment operator in the oil fields for many years. Bill and his wife owned and operated D&L Services for over 12 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and classic cars. Most of all, Bill will be remembered as a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his family – particularly with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara of 60 years; his children, Rebecca Brents Mark and husband Philip, Cynthia Tilley and husband Daniel, and William “Billy” Galloway and wife Kathy; his beloved grandchildren, Paula Taylor, Melissa Mair, Keven Mark, Phillip Tilley, Michael Tilley, Tiffany Davis, Brandon Galloway, Kristen Galloway, James Galloway, Stephen Galloway, Allison Galloway, and Madison Hickey; by 22 great-grandchildren; and by 2 great-great-grandchildren and two on the way.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James Clifford Galloway, Jr.; sister, Barbie Galloway; and by his nephew, J.C. Galloway.
