  William Clyde (Slim) Edwards passed away peacefully at his home in Weatherford, Texas, with family by his side on Thursday, September 5, 2013.

  Slim was born in Monkstown, Texas, February 7, 1925, and 88 years old when he died after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Dewveall Edwards. The Edwards’ have five children: Judy and husband, Robert Walker, Elaine Anderson (deceased), Norman Edwards and wife, Lesli, Herbert Edwards and wife, Mandy, and Nathan Edwards. His grandchildren are Amanda Morgan and husband, Tommie, and their children: Taylor, Jaclyn, and Cooper; Kyle Anderson and his wife, Sheri, and their children, Stephanie and Stetson, Truman Edwards, Stephanie Edwards, Tyler Edwards and wife, Janelle, and Scarlett Edwards.

  Slim was the third of nine children born to Clyde and Eva Edwards, and is survived by one brother, Max Edwards and wife, Linda; sisters, Betty Artis and June Westerholm.

  Mr. Edwards is a World War II Veteran that proudly served his country in the Navy. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone with thirty years of perfect attendance.

  The family wants to thank IntegraCare Hospice, Mineral Wells for their help during the last few days.

  Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

  Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., one hour before service.
