William Henry Moore, Jr passed away May 3, 2016. He was born July 8, 1925 in Knox City. Jr. spent his youth in West Texas, helping his family farm. He was an Army WWII Veteran. After his time spent in the war, he moved to Erath Co. where he met the love of his life, Yvonne. Jr. worked for years on ranches, the majority on the D.G.Talbot Ranch outside of Aledo. At the young age of 54 he started working "in town" at factories. When he retired he couldn't be idle, he worked on a local ranch checking cattle and then a local greenhouse, just to keep busy. But when his wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor, all of his time went to taking care of her, and staying by her side.
Jr. was a "true cowboy" in every since of the way, he worked hard; leaving something for another day wasn't his way. Family was important to him, and he was a good example for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was strong, willing to learn whatever needed to do the job and he tried to pass that on to each one of us. Jr was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Moore and son, Steve Moore.
Survivors include his son, Ted Moore with wife Carol of Aledo; daughter, Pamela Cheryl Garcia of Lake Worth; 8 grandchildren, Shari Conger with husband Kirk, Sandy Moore, Tina Moore, Lucinda Erin Parker, Monica Parker, Jeff Moore with wife Toni, Stephanie Carpenter with husband Terry, and Vanessa Parker; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alonzo Moore with wife Bea , and Jerry Moore with wife Wanda.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with burial following at Annetta Cemetery.
