William Lewis Fundis

January 7, 1942 — October 7, 2021

William “Bill” Fundis, a beautiful light in this world, went home on October 7, 2021, to join his sons, Jack, Jimmy, and Billy. While we know he is now in his true home, we will miss him terribly here.

Bill Fundis was a truly blessed man - he had a loving wife of 54 years, Angel Fundis; nine children: Christi, Ruthie, Debbie, Billy, Jimmy, Jack, Joshua, Sarah, and Rachel; and twenty-three grandchildren. He also had five sisters: Ginny, Mary, Jan, Naida, and Lois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill is the true definition of a Family Man. Nothing made him happier than just spending time with his family. It didn’t matter what we were doing; enjoying a meal, camping, watching a movie, playing board games or cards, he was just happiest spending time with is family.

Dad’s smile was infectious. He never met a stranger and would do anything he could to help others. He was always looking out for everyone and always had an ear to lend, to listen to whatever it was you wanted to talk about… whether it was important or not, he was there if you had a bad day or just a funny story you wanted to share, he was always there to listen. He would even pause a Pittsburgh Steelers game to listen. Now if you were blessed enough to know my dad, you will know what a big deal that was. My dad is the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan that ever lived. Because of his love for the Steelers our entire family loves them also. Now, my brother Jack, who went to heaven two weeks ahead of Dad, would debate that he was the biggest Steelers fan; however, my Dad has loved them longer, so I think he wins this one.

For those of you who knew Bill Fundis, you know what a loss this world has suffered. For those of you who did not know this incredible, wonderful man, I want you to know and remember above all else that my dad always walked in love, and this world is a much bleaker place without him.
