William Travis Combs

William Travis Combs, passed away peacefully at age 99, Wednesday, May 25, 2022. William was born October 19, 1922, in Chillicothe, TX to John Walter Combs and Martha Finley Combs.

Travis and Maxine were married for 77 years, she was the absolute love of his life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Travis had a servant's heart; he was happiest when helping others. Travis was a supervisor for Ralston Purina Mills for many years before he retired. He enjoyed walking every morning to start his day off right and loved to make bird houses, even after he was legally blind. He enjoyed the outdoors and could harvest a beautiful, productive garden. He was a member of South Wayside Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. Travis adored his family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Travis was preceded in death by his wife, Foy Maxine Combs, and his parents, Walter and Martha Combs.

William is survived by his son, Jack Combs and wife Celia, daughter, Kathleen Weems and husband Thomas, daughter, Karen Peterson and husband Scott, and son, Philip Combs.
