William Richard "Dugan" Warren, age 97, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. He was born on March 26, 1927, in Dennis, Texas, to Robert Warren and Hortense Meador Warren. Dugan was a devoted member of North Side Baptist Church and had a deep involvement in various church activities including serving as Deacon and teaching 3rd-grade Sunday School. He also found joy in singing in the choir.
Dugan dedicated over six decades of his life to Hare and Finley Farm Store, later known as Ellis Equipment, before retiring. To his family, he was affectionately known as their "go-to guy" who cherished every moment spent with them and took great pleasure in spoiling his grandchildren. Passionate about travel, Dugan especially enjoyed visiting the mountains of Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Dugan was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his grandson, Jesse Moore; and siblings, Barbara, Ed, Joe, Robert, John, Weldon, and Henry. He is survived by his loving children: Brenda Marlette (Lance), Alan Warren, and Karen Moore (Eric); grandchildren: Emily Marlette, Isaac, Lydia, Naomi, David, and Micah Moore; sister, Rosemary Nicely (Bernard); sisters-in-law: Wanda Moran, Mary Ragle, and Charlotte Warren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Tommy Galik officiating. Dugan will be dearly missed and remembered for his unwavering dedication to both his work and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
