Willie “Nonnie” Delila Henry, 107, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.
Willie was born November 25, 1904 in Baldwyn, Mississippi to John Luther and Esther Waters. Her family moved to Texas in 1908. She was a resident of Austin, Dallas, and Weatherford before returning to Dallas in 2000. Willie was a homemaker, member of the Skillman Church of Christ, former member of South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, and member of the Daughters of The American Revolution. She was an avid reader of the Bible, famous for her hospitality, loved to sew, crochet, cook and travel world wide.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmett Preston Henry in 1983 and a grandson, Lane Mark Cubstead in 1995.
Willie is survived by her daughter, RuthAnn Cubstead and her husband, Lane of Dallas; son, Robert P. Henry and his wife, Alice of Dallas; sister, Lena Carman of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Mary Catherine Drennan and her husband, Cohn of Dallas, Aimee Short and her husband, Dan of Scottsdale, Arizona, Catherine Ann Piepenbrink and her husband, Eric of Parker, Colorado; and four great grandchildren; Trevor Short, Elise Short, Lily Piepenbrink and Ella Piepenbrink.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at 4 pm Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Amity Cemetery near Rising Star.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at 10 am.
