Willie Jean McKinney

Willie Jean McKinney, 86, of Weatherford passed away on February 26, 2022, after a brief battle with vascular dementia and accompanying strokes.

She was born on May 15, 1934, at Horseshoe Bend, in Weatherford to the late Marshall Heller Flora and Stella Francis Moon Flora.

She married her husband of 67 years, Obie Leon McKinney, son of Lawton Clifford McKinney and Goldie McKinney on August 30, 1954 in Weatherford.

Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed watching various sitcoms as well as the Dallas Cowboys on TV. She also loved eating out with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as three half brothers and one half sister.

She is survived by her husband, Obie and two daughters, Rowena Jean McKinney, of Azle and Janice Renee McKinney of Weatherford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be Wednesday, March 2, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., in Weatherford. Services will be Thursday, March 3, at 1:00 p.m., at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church, 802 N. Elm St., in Weatherford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Couts Memorial United Methodist Church.
