William “Bill” Bundy, also known as The Cookie Man, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, in Fort Worth. Born January 8, 1930, to Winford and Hazel Bundy, in Hillsdale, Oklahoma, Bill was the second eldest of four children. He served in the U.S. Army and obtained the rank of Sergeant.
Looking for work brought Bill to Texas and it was there in Fort Worth he met Oralia Nieto. They married in 1958. Bill and Oralia lived in Fort Worth, Whitt and Millsap. Bill worked in the freight industry driving a truck. He enjoyed farming and was an avid reader. Most people will remember he loved to cook; he would bake and sell cookies in the area earning him the nickname “The Cookie Man.”
Bill leaves behind his bride of over 56 years Oralia; daughters, Marge Little, Becky Blankenship and husband, Billy, and Kathy Harris and husband, Donald, all of Fort Worth; sons, Richard Bundy and wife, Brenda of Millsap, Tony Bundy and wife, Debbie of Fort Worth, Gene Bundy and wife, Geni of New Mexico, David Bundy and wife, Portia of New Mexico, and Jim Bundy of New Mexico; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Harwood and husband, Dale of Oregon, and Rosalee Flager of Oklahoma.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, C.R. Bundy.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday June 6, 2014, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment at Poe Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be at the funeral chapel Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
