Winona McAlister Bradford

November 9, 1914 — March 22, 2007

Winona McAlister Bradford died Thursday, March 22, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Bradford was born Nov. 9, 1914 in Poolville. She was a resident of Weatherford for more than 80 years.  Mrs. Bradford was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Couts Memorial Methodist Church for more than 75 years. She graduated Weatherford High School in 1931 and attended Weatherford Business College. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Elmer Bradford, in 1982, her parents, Ethel and John McAlister of Weatherford, brothers, Herschel McAlister Sr., of Dallas, and Bob McAlister, of Weatherford, and sister, Moveline McAlister Hartness, of Weatherford. 

Mrs. Bradford is survived by sons, Robert C. Bradford and wife, Gale, and Philip W. Bradford and wife, Mary, all of Weatherford; seven grandchildren, Mark Bradford and wife, Debra, of Keller, Jim Bradford and wife, Sheryl, of Weatherford, Robyn Bradford Schultheis and husband, Ed, of Cypress, Aaron Cooper and wife, Shelley, of Seven Lakes, North Carolina, Wynne Pool and husband, David, of Weatherford, Wayne Cooper and wife, Gretchen, of Stephenville and Bethany Bradford Meaders and husband, Dustin, of Lumberton, Texas; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services: 10 a.m., Monday, March 26, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm, Weatherford with the Rev. Bob Briles officiating. Special music will feature grandson, Wayne Cooper. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 25, at Galbreaith-Pickard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
