Wyndel “Kurt” Gruver, 66, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Hudson Oaks, left this earth for his Heavenly Home on Monday evening, October 11, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17, at the Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, in Willow Park. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Private Burial will be at a later date.

Kurt was born on June 21, 1955, in Amarillo, Texas to Glen and Le Etta Gruver. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving at the DMZ in Korea. A person of strong faith, he was a lifetime member of the Disciples of Christ; serving as Deacon and Elder at churches in Amarillo Texas, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Belton, Texas. Kurt enjoyed riding his Harley, being Santa Claus for many years, and fly fishing. Kurt had a heart “bigger than Texas” and “he never met a stranger.” His friends were from all walks of life. He was a man of integrity and quiet patience. He was a craftsman who enjoyed building things; gracing family and friends with his unique creations. Most of all, Kurt will be remembered always putting God and his family first.

Kurt is survived by his wife, Laquita; his daughters, Mandy (Corey) Nation and Christy (Erik) Templeton; his grandchildren, Amelia, Lorelei, Hailey, Julie, and Collin; his brother, Davis Gruver; and by his nieces, Mindy Thompson, Molly Ingersol, and Amy Gravitt; and by his nephews, Jason and Austin Gruver.

In addition to his parents, Kurt was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Gruver and by his sister, Shelly Gruver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.
